It is general practice for an attorney to accept a retainer before doing any legal work. In most situations, this is to cover out of pocket expenses, such as filing motions on behalf of the client, but can also be drawn from if the client is not up to date on bills. If for any reason any of the described above is an issue, feel free to reach out and we can talk about it. Please note we offer a free 15-minute initial consultation to anyone curious about our services!
I'll provide the very lawyerly answer of it depends. Generally, you can expect a retainer of at least $1500.00. A more legally risky case may require a larger retainer. If the issue you need resolving is relatively simple, we can certainly discuss a lower retainer.
For the first year only, we will be offering a 50% discount on all hourly charged services, which is normally around $200.00 an hour. What that means for you is only $100.00 per hour for the year of 2024.

Absolutely! Examples include: a basic estate plan for $550.00 for an unmarried individual, or $1000.00 for a legally married couple. Another example on the business side is a flat fee of $500.00 to register a trademark, which includes an extensive search to ensure the mark is not taken.
